Here’s a TIP for those in Orange County…
Well, here we are at the end of another month, and that means that we are going to take a step aside from real estate today and, instead, focus on a different topic. JAM Properties, LLC is Orange County’s premier real estate solutions company and we are in business to do more than just turn a profit. We are dedicated to improving the living condition of homes in our neighborhoods, while also giving back to the community as a whole. We do this in several ways, starting with setting aside a certain portion of our time and earnings to give back to the community and support individuals and non-profit organizations who are making a positive impact in our neighborhoods and across the globe.
On the last week of every month, we feature on our blog a non-profit organization or local charity within our community that is currently bettering the lives of others. Our business stands behind these individuals and thanks them for their generous service to our local neighbors. By giving the spotlight to those who make it their full-time mission to serve others, it is our hope that together we can improve the lives of those around us.
This month’s organization is one that members of JAM Properties have had personal relations with. Sheila was asked to speak and share information with the organization regarding her expertise and education in her other profession. Lisa went through the training process to become a volunteer and served with them. And hundreds of survivors rely on them every day. We hope you will join us in supporting the Trauma Intervention Program of Orange County.
Trauma Intervention Program of Orange County
TIP of Orange County is a chapter of the Trauma Intervention Programs, Inc. (TIP), a national non-profit organization founded in 1985. TIP has 15 affiliates serving over 250 cities across the nation. In each Affiliate, citizen volunteers respond to traumatic incidents at the request of Police, Fire and Hospital personnel to support those who are emotionally traumatized.
The Orange County Chapter of TIP was founded in 1995. There are currently 99 volunteers serving 20 jurisdictions, 10 hospitals, and 10 public safety agencies. The Chapter receives support and guidance from a local Advisory Committee.
“TIP is a group of specially trained volunteers who provide emotional aid and practical support to victims of traumatic events and their families in the first few hours following a tragedy. TIP Volunteers are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They are called by police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and hospital personnel to assist family members and friends following a natural or unexpected death; victims of violent crime including rape, assault, robbery, or burglary; victims of fire; disoriented or lonely elderly persons; people involved in motor vehicle accidents; people who are distraught and seeking immediate support; and survivors of suicide.”Source: http://tiporangecounty.org/
How To Help…
Become a Volunteer
Becoming a TIP volunteer is a way of making a hands-on difference in someone’s life when they are in great need. TIP volunteers are often called upon to support someone at the very worse time in their lives. Volunteers will go through an intense 55-hour training by certified TIP national trainers on Emotional First Aid and Practical Care Support. After completion, volunteers enter into a 3-Month Field Training Program where each trainee is paired up with a veteran volunteer. After the completion of the field training program, trainees graduate as TIP Volunteers and are sent into the field. If you are interested in becoming a TIP Volunteer, Click HERE to learn more.
Adopt a Volunteer
Not everyone has the time or ability to become a TIP volunteer, but anyone can adopt one! TIP Volunteers are very special people. Each spends over 500 hours annually providing support to people who are experiencing the worst time in their lives. A small monetary donation provides support for these generous volunteers.
